Party funds, offshore companies: SC hears plea against Imran, Tareen 

ISLAMABAD: A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar heard a petition on Tuesday about Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen for allegedly owning offshore companies, ARY News reported.

The petition has been filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and another party leader Jahangir Tareen.

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar in the hearing remarked that the petitioner has levelled five charges against Imran Khan, the topmost of which is the issue of funding from prohibited sources.

The petitioner also charged, CJP continued, that Niazi Services was not declared by Imran Khan in his assets, third is the suspicious money transaction from Pakistan to London, and fourth is that there is no money trail of the loan that was given back to PTI chief’s ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith.

Petitioner’s counsel Akram Shaikh in his arguments said that the case should be heard along with the Panama Case. “I assure the bench that this case will not be different from that case.”

The bench directed Imran Khan’s counsel Naeem Bukhari to submit the relevant documents in the court.

Khan’s lawyer responding to the charges said that he had submitted all concerned documents of the case, “if the bench orders he could submit an affidavit to the effect. The court ordered the counsel to file the affidavit.
