LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday unveiled the logo for the upcoming World XI series against Pakistani cricket team at Gaddafi stadium here, ARY News reported.
Addressing a press conference, PCB chairman Najam Sethi reiterated that the purpose of the upcoming series is to project a positive image of the country around the world.

“PCB is also making efforts to hold matches in Karachi,” he said.
Terming the arrival of World XI team to the country a huge achievement for Pakistan, Sethi said the successful hosting of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore opened a window of opportunities and played a vital role to bring the World XI to the country.

He said when he was the appointed chairman, the patron said there were two main objectives – to revive international cricket in Pakistan and to have an improvement in cricket ranking.
It merits to mention here that Pakistani cricket team will play three T20 matches against World XI, scheduled to begin on September 12.
The other two matches will be played on September 13 and 15 respectively.
South Africa’s Faf du Plessis will lead the World XI squad, which will arrive in Pakistan on September 11.
Last month, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi addressed a presser and said: “15 players from England, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe have agreed to play the World XI series in Pakistan, [however] India has declined to send its players to Pakistan.”
