Pir Sialvi announces to launch movement seeking Rana Sana's resignation

SARGODHA: Spiritual leader Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi on Friday announced to launch movement on January 9 seeking Law Minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah’s resignation, ARY News reported.

“All people should gather at Data Darbar in Lahore on January 9 (Tuesday),” he announced addressing a gathering of his disciples and followers in Sial Sharif, Sargodha.

The Sargodha-based leader, Sialvi, has been demanding the resignation of the provincial law minister over his controversial remarks about religious minority Ahmedi community with regard to Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (finality of the Prophethood).

He said the protestors would stay at Data Darbar till resignation of Rana Sanaullah.

“Everybody should resolve to stay put and support the movement till its decisive end,” he said.

He has also urged his supporters to not vote for the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) in the next general elections. “Promise me that you won’t vote for the PML-N under any circumstances,” he said.

It is apropos to mention that earlier Pir Sialvi had called for the resignation of Rana Sanaullah by December 31. Sialvi had also warned Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take resignation from Rana Sanaullah or show him the door.

Ealier on December 10, the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) had suffered a major blow after five lawmakers, three MPAs and two MNAs, submitted their resignations to Pir Sialvi.

Hamiduddin Sialvi once a PML-N supporter had announced to end support for the ruling party on December 6, 2017, for not fulfilling the demand of Sanaullah’s resignation.

He said that he had demanded the resignation of Rana Sanaullah over the minister’s controversial statement which he did not tender till the given deadline so he and his followers will not support the PML-N in the next general elections and the legislators associated with Sial Sharif Shrine will also tender their resignations.

Pir Sialvi had asked Rana Sanaullah to publicly explain his position, recite Kalma and step down as Punjab law minister.
