ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan performed ground breaking of Hyderabad University during a ceremony held in Islamabad on Thursday, ARY News reported.

While addressing the ceremony, PM Khan said he felt happiness for performing inauguration of an educational institution in the same way when roads were inaugurated in past.

The ceremony was attended by federal ministers and other high-level officials.

The premier was of the view that major expenditures should be made on its nationals instead of constructing roads. He added that a nation cannot be prosper and developed without being equipped with education.

I am very happy to lay foundation stone of a varsity. Our country will become prosper if we invest on our people.”

PM Khan reminded, “Our Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) had taken a major step during Ghazva-e-Badar by offering prisoners release after educating [Muslim] children. I am very happy to lay foundation stone of a varsity. Our country will become prosper if we invest on our people.”

“Education gives us real security. The budget of Singapore University is bigger than all universities in Pakistan. Exports of Singapore stands at $330 billion while Pakistan’s export is up to only $24 billion despite having population of around 210 million.”

Hyderabad University will be made a technical base. A new university, named after ‘Abdul Qadir’ will be established in future where science and sufism subjects would be taught.

He added that the country has people under 30 years up to 60 per cent which would lift Pakistan and its economy if youths were provided education.

“Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal had very wide view. A system of infidelity cannot run anymore. I am agreeing with the point raised by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui that this is not the country which was created on an ideology,” said PM Imran Khan.

“Insha-Allah! PTI and MQM will contest next elections together,” said PM Khan.

He said establishment of Hyderabad University was opposed in past. The premier urged Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to reveal names who created hurdles for the varsity. He criticised such elements, saying that the elements should not interrupt establishment of the university if they cannot promote education.

The premier announced that Hyderabad University will be made a technical base besides establishment of another university to be named after ‘Abdul Qadir’ where science and sufism would be taught.

PM Khan said that [Pakistan People’s Party chairman] Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari usually delivers his speech in English to disrespect Urdu speaking people as around 90 per cent Pakistanis only knew their national language. He criticised the trends for judging education-level of a person by fluency of his speech in English.

“Despite having differences, I think that the ideology of PTI [Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf] and MQM [Muttahida Qaumi Movement] is same. The political parties came closer after formation for a coalition when we get the government and we handed two ministries to Muttahida. Khalid Maqbool and Farogh Naseem proved themselves as sophisticated in every matter.”

“Insha-Allah! PTI and MQM will contest next elections together,” said PM Khan.

While concluding his speech, PM Khan ensured that he will take personal interest in establishment of the varsity. The premier said that he should be kept informed regarding difficulties in its establishment and he would personally discuss the matters with the provincial government. He added that government land will be provided for the Hyderabad University.
