PM Imran to attend ‘Future Investment Initiative’ conference in Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will leave for Saudi Arabia on Monday to participate in ‘Future Investment Initiative’ conference beginning in Riyadh on Tuesday.

He is paying the visit on special invitation of King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz.

The conference termed as “Davos in the Desert” will bring leading businesspersons, investors, corporate giants, representatives of hi-tech industry and major media outlets at one platform.

Imran Khan’s participation in first day of the conference is aimed at projecting Pakistan’s economic and investment potential as well as its vision for the next five years.

The conference will provide an opportunity to interact with important business leaders who are interested in investing in Pakistan.

Imran Khan will also call on King Salman and meet Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and discuss with them matters of mutual interests.

It is pertinent to mention that the Saudi Arabian government has agreed to abolish the tax on Umrah after PM Imran took up the matter with the Saudi Arabian crown prince during his recent visit of the kingdom.

The premier had requested Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud to waive 2,000 riyals tax imposed by the Saudi Arabian government on Pakistani nationals performing Umrah every year.
