2019 beginning of Pakistan's golden era, says PM Khan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said 2019 is the beginning of Pakistan’s “golden era” and expressed the incumbent government’s New Year resolution to wage jihad against poverty, illiteracy, injustice and corruption.

 “Our New Year resolution is to wage jihad against the 4 ills of our country: poverty, illiteracy, injustice and corruption. InshaAllah 2019 is the beginning of Pakistan’s golden era,” he said in a tweet.

 President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi also congratulated the nation on the New Year and hoped that Pakistan would remain steadfast on the path of development and eliminate poverty.

Terming 2019 a year of progress, Director General (DG) Inter -Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Dec 31 expressed hope in the national pursuit for a peaceful, prosperous and vibrant Pakistan.
