SHARM EL SHEIKH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Pakistan on Tuesday after a two-day visit to attend the Gaza Peace Summit.
During the summit, leaders from the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey signed a peace agreement for Gaza.
At Sharm El Sheikh airport, Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Heno bid farewell to the prime minister, who had joined leaders from 20 countries at the summit. He also addressed the gathering after being invited by President Donald Trump, who interrupted his own press conference to offer the invitation.
Describing the moment as “one of the greatest days in contemporary history,” Prime Minister Shehbaz praised Trump’s leadership, saying, “I would like to nominate this great president for the Nobel Peace Prize. I genuinely believe he is the most deserving candidate because he has not only brought peace to South Asia, saving millions of lives, but today, here in Sharm El Sheikh, he has achieved peace in Gaza and saved millions more in the Middle East.”
On his return journey, Prime Minister Shehbaz took to social media to reaffirm that Pakistan’s top priority is the immediate cessation of the genocidal campaign in Gaza. He emphasized that Pakistan, along with other brotherly nations, consistently reinforced this message.
He said that Pakistan’s gratitude to Trump was anchored in his promise that he would make it stop, and delivering on that promise.
“We will continue to express our admiration for President Trump’s unique contribution to peace,” the prime minister said.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s active involvement in the peace process, alongside other brotherly nations, and underscored the importance of a lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue.
