PM takes notice of inactive CT angiography facility at PIMS

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the failure to activate the CT Angiography facility at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), ARY News reported.
The premier has formed an inquiry committee to ascertain the facts, instructing it to determine responsibility after reviewing the matter and present a report.
The PM has appointed the Secretary of the Establishment Division as the chairman of the inquiry committee.
The committee will review the technical capacity for angiograms at PIMS existing since 2022 and check the records of all angiograms conducted at the hospital during the same period.
It will also review the contact and referral mechanism between the cardiology and radiology departments.
In light of the inquiry committee’s findings, strict action will be taken as per the law against those found responsible.
Moreover, the National Health Services Division will provide assistance during the inquiry.
