LAHORE: After surfacing of differences with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz Sharif and his party’s depriving him of election ticket, disgruntled Zaeem Qadri on Thursday announced to contest election on NA-133 as an independent candidate, ARY News reported.

Without identifying anyone, he said PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif told him that some people in the party detested his face. At the same time he also lashed out at Shehbaz’s son Hamza saying that “I cannot polish Hamzah Shahbaz Sharif’s boots”.

“Lahore is not an inherited property of you or your father. I will show you how to do politics in the city where my family elders have emerged victors in the past,” he said adding that the PML-N had been in his blood and would remain so as his family had since last three generations served the party.

The PML-N leader did not formally announce dissociation with the party but hinted towards surfacing of a range of differences with some party leaders.

From now on election and war will go hand in hand, Zaeem said adding that it was not even about election only, actually he had lost patience over matters.

“My election is against you (now), Hamza Shehbaz. I have rendered my life and money to the party… I will not be a servant to you. I will not bow down before anyone,” he said in a harsh and visibly angry tone.

“Despite no one in the party defended it for five hours daily in the last five years, I have been deprived of the party ticket only because ‘someone’ abhorred me and I tolerated this all for I am an ideological member of the party,” he said.

Zaeem also announced that former PML-N MPA and his wife Syeda Uzma Qadri will also fight general elections 2018 as an independent candidate.
