PM's disqualification: SC pleaded to form a larger bench

According to details, a three member bench headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja conducted the hearing of the case on Tuesday.

During the hearing Chaudhry Shujaat’s counsel, Irfan Qadir requested the court to first listen to his plea.

At which Justice Jawwad said, “Pleas seeking elimination of judges from the bench often come, you present initial arguments and let the bench understand the case”.

“It is also possible that we may ourselves decide to form a larger bench and to get separated from it”, he added.

Irfan Qadir said that this is a matter of public concern and the case should only be heard by a larger bench.

The court, after listening to the stance of the petitioner’s counsel, adjourned the hearing till Thursday, October 23.
