Police confirm ‘arms recovered from dacoits stolen from senator’s residence’

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police department has confirmed that the arms recovered from the dacoits two days ago belong to Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, ARY News reported on Monday.

It may be noted here that a gun battle took place between Islamabad police and dacoits in which the cops seized arms from the alleged criminals two days ago.

After an investigation, it was learnt that the recovered weapons were licenced to Senator Nuzhat Sadiq who had registered a case of dacoity incident at her residence in November.

According to reports, the Bilal Sabit gang was involved in carrying out a robbery at Senator Nuzhat Sadiq’s residence and the stolen weapons were used to attack a police party in which three cops sustained wounds.

During the exchange of fire with police officials, two dacoits had been killed who were identified as Wajid and Arshad alias Khatkay.

The officials said that police teams are continuously conducting raids to arrest the dacoits associated with the Bilal Sabit gang.

In November, a case had been registered at Shalimar police station over the dacoity incident that took place at the residence of Senator Nuzhat Sadiq in Islamabad.

The First Information Report (FIR) had stated that three armed men had entered the house at around 1:30 pm and held the domestic employees and her husband hostage.

It read that the armed men checked the whole house and fled after taking 18-tola gold, Rs2 million cash and other valuables.
