A frightened farmer in north-east Scotland spotted a might tiger resting on his farm, and called the police to the situation until they realised that there were in for huge embarrassment
Police reached the location and tried various ways to combat the dangerous situation, but were left dumbstruck after a “45-minute stand-off with the tiger” when they realised that it was just a stuffed toy.
The farmer had gone to check his cows and discovered a tiger in the shed. The pictures of the tiger were circulated on social media after they were shared by a Facebook page named ‘UK Cop Humour’.
Photographs of the tiger were sent to the control room, and an expert sergeant confirmed it was definitely real. Numerous units, including a dog handler were sent to the farm to tackle the beast.
Several radio updates said that it was unclear if the tiger has eaten any cattle but it appeared well fed and it’s ears were seen to twitch but other than that it was very settled. However, a sheepish sounding sergeant came on air and declared that it was indeed a stuffed toy.
The North East Police Division posted a message on Facebook giving a detailed summary of the incident and wrote, “The incident was stood down within 45 minutes once officers attended and established there was no threat to the public. We appreciate that it was a false call made with genuine good intent.”
As expected many lost their calm when the picture went viral on social media. Many poked fun with Salman Khan’s film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai.’ Indian writer Chetan Bhagat also joined in with his hilarious tweet.
45 minutes? Like, it took 45 minutes for someone to say “sir, hil nahi raha bilkul vaise”? https://t.co/VXc592gScL

Good tactical plan I’d say. The dog was there to provide a distraction/sacrifice to the tiger in the event it attacked, to allow the cops to escape. 😂

So much defines India of 2018.
Attacking dummy Tigers while the real threat lies elsewhere https://t.co/rbWbglg0yN— Abhijeet (@abhic4ever) February 8, 2018
