Dr. Khalid Soomro was shot dead in Sukkur by unknown persons earlier today.
Former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has condemned the incident and said that the nation will not be demoralized by the killing of Khalid Soomro.
Zardari telephoned CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and ordered immediate of the perpetrators of the murder.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), expressed his grief over the incident.
Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain also condemned the murder of Khalid Soomro.
Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif gave his condolences to JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and Soomro’s family over the incident.
Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has said that the political gap created due to the death of the JUI-F leader will be difficult to be fulfilled.
Former Sindh CM Ali Mohammad Mehar, CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervaiz Khattak, Syed Munawwar Hassan of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Karachi Emir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also condemned the killing of JUI-F leader.
Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council Tahir Ashrafi called the killing of Khalid Soomro as the failure of the government and announced a day of mourning whereas Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain have expressed sadness over the incident.
PPP leaders Nisar Khuhro and Faryal Talpur have also denounced the killing of JUI-F leader.
