According to sources, a law enforcement agency, with the help of Interpol, arrested Saeed Bharam during a raid in Abu Dhabi two days ago.
He is said to be a key suspect of ‘China cutting’ – an illegal way of carving out big amenity plots, community centres, government plots, parks or even cemeteries into smaller plots up to 100 yards or below each and sale them – in Karachi.
Apart from his involvement in China cutting, Bharam is also alleged of bomb blasts, target killings, kidnappings, murders and other serious offences.
He had reportedly escaped out of country after the law enforcement agencies launched a crackdown on terrorists and criminals in Karachi, in 2013.
The suspect operated his network here while remaining underground in South Africa and Dubai, sources said. He will soon be brought to Karachi.
