PPP not to change stance on 18th Amendment, presidential system: Bilawal Bhutto

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan PeopleS Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari here on Monday said that they were ready to go to jail but his party would not change its stance on 18th amendment, presidential system, democracy and military courts, ARY News reported.

Addressing a press conference at Zardari House in Islamabad, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said, ” Your National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and threats cannot scare his party leadership.”

He warned of the government to serve the masses otherwise they had options to launch anti-government movement or seek resignation from the rulers.

Responding to question, Bilawal Bhutto said, “There was no room for deal in a democratic system.” He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif was ill and added that the government should take measures for his proper medical treatment. Bilawal said that substitute leadership was also exist in PML-N.

The PPP leader said that injustice and dual system could not be practiced in the country.

Earlier, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, on April 4, had said that the rulers should have refrain from ending 18th Constitutional Amendment and had threatened to topple the government.

Bilawal had made the statement while addressing a public meeting in connection with the 40th death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Terming the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s death sentence as ‘judicial murder’, Bilawal had said that his grandfather had been punished for strengthening the defence of the country. He had said that Bhutto had laid the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear programme in 1972 which completed in 1978.
