Despite the political truce between the two ruling coalition partners, the Pakistan People’s Party has expressed strong reservations over the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) ongoing anti-PPP social media campaign, sources revealed to ARY News.
According to sources, PPP leaders have communicated to the party’s top leadership about the PML-N’s continued online propaganda targeting the Sindh government. They said the campaign appears aimed at shaping an anti-PPP narrative in Punjab.
PPP leaders have reportedly urged the party leadership to raise the matter with the PML-N through official channels.
The sources added that the PPP leadership has decided to take up the issue in the upcoming Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting.
It may be recalled that President Asif Ali Zardari and the PML-N leadership had mutually agreed to refrain from issuing public statements against each other.

The leadership of both parties instructed their members to refrain from issuing further public statements. Reportedly, Mohsin Naqvi played a key role in mediating the truce between the two sides.
In recent days, the two parties had engaged in a war of words over issues such as compensation for flood victims and water rights in the Cholistan Canal project.
Despite ceasefire in a high-level meeting, tensions persist between both the PPP and PML-N over activities on social media platforms.
