PPP offers chairmanship of standing committees to MQM-P

KARACHI: The ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Monday offered chairmanship of standing committees in Sindh assembly to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) after a meeting between the two parties, ARY News reported citing sources. 

According to sources, out of 14 vacant standing committees of joint opposition, PPP has offered the chairmanship of 6 committees to MQM-P.

Along with chairmanship, the MQM-P members will be given government vehicles and fuel as well, sources added.

Meanwhile, MQM-P will respond to the PPP offer of Chairmanship of the National accountability bureau (NAB) after consultation with party senior leadership.

Earlier, the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has thrown the ball in Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan’s (MQM-P) court over the delimitation issue.

The Sindh government asked the MQM-P leaders that the delimitation issue was linked with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), whereas, the provincial authorities were fully ready to make new delimitation.

The PPP leaders asked the MQM-P delegation to convince the ECP for new delimitation through its lawyers. The Sindh government said that it will not raise any objection over the demand for new delimitation, sources added.
