Prince William and Princess Kate have expressed their condolences and solidarity with Australians following the deadly shooting at Bondi Beach.
Taking to their Instagram Stories over the weekend, the Prince and Princess of Wales extended their “deepest condolences” to those affected by the tragic incident.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives and stand with the Jewish community in grief,” the couple wrote.
They further added, “We are also thinking about the bravery of the emergency responders, particularly the two injured officers. W & C.”
Their message followed a statement from King Charles and Queen Camilla, who described the attack as a “dreadful antisemitic terrorist attack” targeting Jewish people attending a Chanukah celebration,
“My wife and I are appalled and saddened by the most dreadful antisemitic terrorist attack on Jewish people attending the Chanukah celebration at Bondi Beach. Our hearts go out to everyone who has been affected so dreadfully, including the police officers who were injured while protecting members of their community,” the statement reads.
The Bondi Beach shooting has claimed 12 lives, with 29 others injured and taken to hospitals across Sydney.
