In a statement issued on Thursday, it was said that all the unverified mobile phone connections will be blocked on 12 April’s night.
The statement read that more than 7 crore and 51 lac SIMs have so far been verified biometrically, while more than 1 crore 13 lac sims were already blocked.
The PTA said that mobile service providers were given 90 days deadline for verifying all the 103 million connections.
It was further clarified that April 12 is the last date for biometric verification of sims and no further extension will be given in it.
