The district administration has given Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf the go-ahead to organize its public rally.
PTI chairman Imran Khan alongwith other party leaders will address the rally today.
A 19 foot stage is being prepared for the gathering. Fifty thousand chairs have been placed at the gathering site.
Security plan for the gathering has been completed. Three thousand policemen will perform their duties at Minar-e-Pakistan ground and its adjacent areas whereas three Superintendents of Police (SPs) will monitor the security situation.
Fifty SHOs and DSPs will also supervise the security around the venue whereas traffic wardens will control the traffic system around the gathering site.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said that the gathering will be a historic one.
Earlier, the party had taken out a rally at Liberty Chowk area of Lahore in order to set the tone for the Sunday’s gathering.
It should be noted that PTI had also staged a demonstration in Karachi last Sunday.
