Punjab issues new schedule for Matric, Intermediate exams and results

LAHORE: The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons (PBCC) has revised the schedule for matriculation and intermediate examinations and results for 2026 across the province in view of the holy month of Ramazan.

According to officials, the examinations were initially scheduled to begin on March 3, 2026. However, under the revised schedule, the exams will now be held after Eidul Fitr, as Ramazan is expected to fall in Pakistan from February 18 to March 18, 2026.

The PBCC approved the tentative schedule for SSC and HSSC (first and second annual) examinations for 2026, with exams set to commence from March 27, 2026. The decision was taken during a meeting of the PBCC held in Lahore.

Following the meeting, a notification was issued stating that the revised schedule was unanimously approved as proposed by the Controller of Examinations, PBCC / BISE Lahore.

Under the revised plan, the SSC (first annual) examinations for classes nine and ten will start on March 27, 2026. The tentative result for class ten (Part-II) is expected to be announced on August 6, 2026, while the result for class nine (Part-I) is likely to be declared on September 2, 2026.

The SSC second annual (supplementary) examinations will begin on October 6, 2026.

Meanwhile, the HSSC (first annual) examinations for classes eleven and twelve will start on May 20, 2026. The tentative result for class twelve (Part-II) is expected on September 23, 2026, while the result for class eleven (Part-I) is likely to be announced on October 22, 2026.

The HSSC second annual examinations will commence on November 3, 2026. The tentative result of the intermediate second annual examinations is expected to be announced on January 12, 2027.

HSSC (Intermediate) 1st Annual Examinations 2026

Exams begin: May 20, 2026

Admission with single fee: January 19 to February 11, 2026

Admission with double fee: February 12 to February 24, 2026

Admission with triple fee: February 25 to March 9, 2026

12th Class (Part-II) result: September 23, 2026 (tentative)

11th Class (Part-I) result: October 22, 2026 (tentative)

HSSC (Intermediate) 2nd Annual Examinations 2026

Exams begin: November 3, 2026

Admission with single fee: September 24 to October 6, 2026

Admission with double fee: October 7 to October 13, 2026

Admission with triple fee: October 14 to October 17, 2026

Result: January 12, 2027 (tentative)

The notification clarified that the schedule will be applicable to all educational boards across Punjab.
