FM Qureshi meets Japanese counterpart, discusses bilateral ties

TOKYO: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi here on Tuesday met with his Japanese counterpart, Taro Kono in Tokyo, ARY News reported.

The two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations, promotion of cooperation in various fields and resolved to continue joint efforts for peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, Shah Mehmood Qureshi briefed his Japanese counterpart on regional situation and thanked Taro Kono for inviting him in his country.

Taro Kono appreciated the efforts of Pakistan for regional peace and stability.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan and Japan agreed to further bolster their bilateral ties on leadership as well as masses level.

The resolve was expressed during a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and members of Japan Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League at the Japanese parliament in Tokyo today. The two sides also agreed to explore opportunities in trade, investment and other areas of development.
