Rangers to get complete powers in Karachi within two days : Nisar

He expressed concern over making  issue of extension in Rangers powers controversial and said Rangers was brought for restoration of security situation in the metropolis.

“Sindh Rangers enjoyed full support of the federal government, which will facilitate the paramilitary force to complete its job of establishing peace in Karachi. Hopefully, new chief minister of Sindh will resolve this issue and the Sindh government will play its due role in this regard,” he said while addressing a press conference in Taxila.

He said the Karachi operation was launched after consultation and consensus with the Sindh government on the orders of the Supreme Court.

“Karachi operation will be proceeded in a better way. We will get to know about performance of the new captain of Karachi operation when he will start batting,” he said.

The minister said Rangers have restored peace in Karachi to a great extent sacrificing their lives during the last two and a half years. He pointed out how the paramilitary force can be expected to deliver when it does not have the required powers.

To a query, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the visa agreement with Kuwait signed in 2013 has been suspended as the accord was not being honored by the other side.

He said the visa issuance system has been improved and it is for the first time in the history of Pakistan that international airlines are being fined on violation of rules.
