Saad stresses on post-census constitutional amendments to ensure timely general elections

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Saturday underscored importance of post-census constitutional amendments to ensure timely conduct of general elections.

“The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership has urged the political parties to make required amendments in the constitution after the new census to ensure the holding of the general elections on time,” he said talking to media in Lahore.

Saad Rafique said that after the new delimitation of the constituencies, seven general seats and two special seats of the Punjab had been decreased; however, the ruling party had accepted it.

He said that the PML-N believed in rule of constitution and whoever talked about it, they would stand with him.

The minister said the PML-N would emerge victorious in the next general elections.

He also said that ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif was appearing before the courts despite his reservations.
