LAHORE: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in its initial report has declared character of Zeeshan ‘suspicious’, while Khalil and his family members have been declared innocent, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Sources privy to the matter have said the victims of Sahiwal shootout Khalil and his family were cleared, while suspicion was shown over owner of the vehicle, Zeeshan.
Reportedly, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel had exercised their powers by crossing their domain.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar had showed no-confidence over the initial probe report into Sahiwal incident.
The report was presented by AIG Police Syed Ijaz Hussain Shah, who is heading the JIT, presented his initial probe report in a meeting being chaired by Chief Minister Punjab after end of the given deadline to JIT.

To this, the JIT head reportedly responded by saying that it was not possible to submit a report about such a high profile case within three days.
Sources say that at max, the Chief Minister could give one more day to the JIT, and if it fails to submit the report by then, formation of a judicial commission could be announced with JIT’s initial report referred to the commission.
