Female singer shot dead during performance in Larkana

LARKANA: A local singer was shot dead while performing at a wedding ceremony in Kanga village near Larkana city on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

According to ARY News correspondent, Samina Sindhu, a local singer was performing at a wedding when someone fired shots at her, leaving her seriously wounded.

The singer was taken to Chandka Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead.

Her husband told media that her wife was six months pregnant and was asked to stand up and dance during her performance by a man named Tariq Jatoi, who killed her upon refusal.

“Samina declined to dance because she was pregnant, her refusal enraged the accused who then killed her,” Samina’s husband, Ashiq Ali told media.

Police have registered a case and have arrested at least two people including the prime accused.

In a video obtained by ARY News, the singer can be seen performing at the ceremony before being shot dead.

The video shows Samina sitting and serenading the guests before standing up, only to be killed.

Artists in the city have protested and demanded justice for the slain singer.
