Sania Ashiq: The youngest MPA in Punjab Assembly

LAHORE: The July 25 general elections have introduced a number of fresh faces to the provincial and national legislature for the first time. Sania Ashiq is one such example in the Punjab Assembly who is the youngest MPA ever elected in the provincial assembly.

She took oath along with other newly-elected MPAs as lawmaker in the inaugural session of Punjab Assembly in Lahore. She belongs to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

Sania Ashiq was among 66 women candidates elected on reserved seat in the Punjab Assembly.

After getting elected, Ms Ashiq said she was committed to serve humanity.

She said: “While being in the assembly, I will make sure the projects that were setup by PMLN government for women empowerment, namely VAWC Multan, Zewar-e-Taleem, etc, they must continue to serve girls and women.”

She further said that she will try to expand and promote these projects for the greater public interest, especially for women population.

She vowed to persistently raise her voice and play a vital role in highlighting to resolving women issues.
