Pakistan cricket star Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis player Sania Mirza have recently been blessed with their first child after about eight years of their marriage.
Earlier this year, Sania had said that their child would share surnames of both the parents from across the border. So, they have named the little angel Izhaan Mirza-Malik. His name means God’s gift, as the parents feel that he is.
The Indian player today shared first picture of her son on Instagram with a lovely caption. Both mother and son can be seen watching Shoaib Malik play cricket against New Zealand.
“So, it’s been 5 days since we came into this world – me as a mother and my little Izhaan as my son. We’ve even watched Baba play some cricket together since we’ve arrived,” she wrote.
“It truly is the biggest match or tournament achievement I’ve ever won or had, and there is no feeling or blessing that can be greater than this.”

The boy was born on Tuesday and she could not post his picture during all this time, neither could she respond to the floods of wishes. “I finally have gotten some time after this overwhelming feeling to get online and check the messages and love we have received,” Mirza said.
“Shoaib and I feel truly blessed and humbled with the wishes and love we have received. Thank you to each and every one of you ..we love you right back! Love , Sania ,Shoaib and Izhaan @realshoaibmalik #Allhamdulillah,” she added.
The former Pakistan skipper had made this announcement in a tweet on Tuesday. He wrote, “Excited to announce: It’s a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual.”
Malik is these days enjoying double treat: one is birth of his son and the other is Pakistan team’s consecutive 11th T-20 series victory.
