After years of speculation and persistent requests from the fans, the powerful on-screen couple – Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit – is making its way back to the screen.
The pair is coming together after 21 years to star in Karan Johar’s upcoming film, Shiddat. This igniting on-screen chemistry between the couple was last seen by the movie mongers in 1997-film Mahaanta.
The female lead in the upcoming flick was to be played by the late Sridevi but after her unfortunate demise the role was offered to Madhuri and she accepted it.
Madhuri’s casting was officially confirmed by Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, who posted the picture of the two divas and wrote, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart ….Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film….”
Shiddat is to be directed by Abhishek Varman, who also directed 2 State. The film also stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in key roles.
Apart from this, Madhuri and Sanjay have been immensely loved and praised by the audience for their undeniable chemistry in films like Saajan, Khalnayak, Thanedaar, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Ilaaka, Sahibaan, Kanoon Apna Apna and others.
