Sargodha shrine killings: Accomplice to main accused arrested

SARGODHA: Following the brutal mass murder of 20 people inside shrine of Muhammad Ali Gujjar, police has arrested an accomplice of main accused and custodian of the shrine Abdul Waheed on Monday, ARY News reported.

After initial investigation police has nominated six other people in the case by arresting an accomplice of the main accused, Kashif, in an injured condition from a hospital.

According to police sources, Abdul Waheed has confessed of his crime while stating his life was under threat by the deceased, which became motive of killings, as what the key accused has termed it, adding, the deceased had also killed his spiritual leader.

The case has been lodged in Saddar police station of Sargodha.     

Earlier, chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif had directed for constitution of an investigation team under supervision of provincial minister Zaeem Qadri.

Punjab Assembly member from Sargodha Chaudhry Abdul Razzaque had said that all dead bodies were handed over to the families of the victims.

FORMER EMPLOYEE OF EC IN SARGODHA

Abdul Waheed, the main accused, was reportedly an employee of Election Commission of Pakistan in Sargodha who later suspended for having mental health problems.

He drugged as many as 20 people before carrying out a brazen assault.

Four suspects including the main accused were arrested by police from the crime scene yesterday while his another accomplice taken into custody today in an injured condition from hospital.
