ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman played a vital role in reducing tensions between Pakistan and India.

In an interview with the Saudi newspaper ‘Al-Riyadh, he said Pakistan enjoyed warm cordial relations with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  The crown prince, he added, was also making efforts to show the enlightened face of Islam and Muslim Ummah to the world.

Tensions between two nuclear-armed neighbours had peaked in the wake of the Feb 14 incident of Pulwama suicide attack in which more than 40 Indian security personnel were killed.

The minister further said both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are making efforts to present the true soft image of Islam before the world. He said the kingdom was playing an important role for the integrity of Muslim Ummah and safeguarding it from prevailing threats.
