The SC suspended the Islamabad High Court decision restoring Ashraf as PCB chief and asked Sethi continue as PCB chairman to hold board elections within a week. The court also ordered for appointment of new election commissioner for conducting PCB polls.
Until, election commission was appointed Sethi will continue working as the PCB head. Sethi told the court that he would not contest the PCB elections.
Justice Saqib Nisar remarked that the PCB chairman should be appointed on merit. We want to see whether prime minister has exceeded his authority, said Justice Nisar.
