ISLAMABAD: The population and house count in the second block of first phase under ‘sixth population and housing census’ in 63 districts across the country started today (Friday), ARY News reported.
The house listing in the second block will remain continue for three days while the headcount will begin from April 3 which will continue till April 13.
Moreover, homeless people in second block will be counted on April 13.
The population and house count has begun in 63 districts of the country, which include 6445 blocks of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 125 blocks of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), 20,188 blocks of Punjab, 9180 blocks of Sindh, 2814 blocks of Balochistan, 1222 blocks of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) while 360 blocks of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Chief Census Commissioner Asif Bajwa while briefing the media said that headcount and house listing in first block of phase one have completed in an effective way. He also urged the public to inform census teams if anyone has been left out.
The census commissioner further apprised media that homeless people were also counted in the first block while asserting that there were some issues in two districts of Balochistan. “However census teams are engaged in resolving the issues in the two districts”, he added.
