RAWALPINDI: A major terror plot was foiled in Quetta when army personnel seized an explosive-laden vehicle near Chaman, a town of Balochistan bordering Afghanistan, and arrested two suspects, ARY News reported.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the vehicle was arriving from Afghanistan when it was caught by the forces. The military personnel, in an intelligence-based operation (IBO), recovered 80 kilogrammes of explosive materials concealed in a pick-up truck. The two suspects were also arrested in its wake.

The media-wing of Pakistan Armed forces in a statement further said that the vehicle was prepared as Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Kandahar, Afghanistan, which was to be used in a terror plot.

It is pertinent to mention that security was intensified in the bordering town in February when border security management closed Torkham border completely after a series of blasts in a bid to stop terrorists’ movement.
