Senate condemns Mastung suicide attack

ISLAMABAD: The Senate on Monday passed a unanimous resolution condemning horrific terrorist attack in Mastung which resulted in martyrdom of Mir Siraj Raisani, leader of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), and 149 other innocent Pakistanis.
The resolution said Raisani was a brave and sincere Pakistani and the loss of his life is unfortunate.
The House also expressed serious concerns on recent spate of attacks on political parties in the run up to general election.
It urged the Election Commission of Pakistan, federal and provincial caretaker governments to take steps for the protection of political parties.
The House also prayed for the departed souls and fortitude for the relatives to bear the irreparable loss.
The resolution was tabled by Leader of the Opposition Senator Sherry Rehman on behalf of all the senators.
