Shabbar Zaidi does not have any Twitter account

KARACHI: Newly-appointed chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) clarified on Saturday that he does not have any account on micro-blogging social media app, Twitter. 

While talking to media, Zaidi shared that the Twitter account running in his name is fake, as he does not have any presence on the social media site.

He further advised people not to follow any such account.

On May 9, the federal government notified to appoint Shabbar Zaidi as honorary chairman of the FBR.

As per the notification, Zaidi will not take salary as the FBR chairman, however, he will be fully authorised to exercise powers of the key position.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had taken senior FBR officers into confidence over the appointment of Shabbar Zaidi for the top position, sources added.

Zaidi — a renowned chartered accountant and tax affairs expert — replaced Jahanzeb Khan as the FBR chief.
