SHC directs NAB to file reference against Ziaul Hassan Lanjar

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file assets beyond means reference against former Sindh’s minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar within three weeks, ARY News reported.

The SHC heard bail plea filed by Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, here today.

NAB’s counsel apprised the honourable court that investigation against Lanjar has been completed and the reference was sent to chairman NAB for his approval.

Ordering NAB to file reference against the former Sindh’s minister within three weeks, the SHC adjourned the hearing of the case till May 21.

On last hearing of the case, the Investigation Officer (IO) of National Accountability Bureau had informed the court that investigation against Lanjar was underway and had sought time of 4 weeks for the report into the scam.

According to the NAB, they had traced Lanjar’s bungalow in Karachi’s Defence area worth Rs 90 million which was not mentioned in his asset declaration form.

During the inquiry, it was found that the sale agreement of the bungalow is in his name and but he has transferred the property in his father-in-law’s name. Lanjar through a front-man deposited public funds, including that of a medical college, in his own accounts.”
