JHELUM: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said Shehbaz Sharif and his party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are blackmailers, ARY News reported on Friday.
Talking to journalists in Jhelum here today, he said opposition parties had once walked out from National Assembly session today, over pretext of non-issuance of Khawaja Saad Rafique’s production orders, adding “Opposition leader, Shehbaz Sharif and his party are blackmailers.”
“Opposition wants National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) by asserting continuous pressure on the government,” he maintained.
Recalling government’s efforts for smooth running of the house, the minister said that the PTI-led government had formed a committee to probe oppositions’ allegations of poll rigging in General Polls of 2018.
Government sat with the opposition for legislation to bring reforms in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws, but unfortunately opposition is adopting undemocratic norms.
“From officers to peon, all staff in NAB was appointed by PML-N government,” said Fawad Chaudhry.
Holding PML-N government responsible for gas crisis, Mr Fawad said Nawaz Sharif plunged country into gas crisis, adding when he came into power in 2013, there was no crisis of gas in the country.
The petroleum minister is looking into the matter, the gas crisis will be resolved soon, the minister assured nation.
Replying to a question asked during his media talk, the information minister said government will fulfill its promises made during the election campaign.
“Past rulers had not left a single thing in the country, we are really building a “Naya Pakistan,” he added.
Earlier today, the Opposition had staged a walkout in the National Assembly (NA) once again, to protest over non-issuance of a production order for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Khawaja Saad Rafique.
Following the opposition’s walkout, the assembly session was adjourned till Monday.
