ISLAMABAD: The medical board, constituted on request of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to examine Shehbaz Sharif, has declared the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader fit after a thorough check-up, ARY News reported.

The medical test of Mr. Sharif was conducted by the team at 7am today at his residence in Minister’s Enclave which was declared a sub-jail by the NAB.

After conducting several tests, the medical board of the Polyclinic found no abnormality in blood pressure, electrocardiography and ultrasound. The team of doctors later submitted the medical fitness certificate of Mr. Sharif to the NAB.

The medical board had conducted a similar test of the National Assembly opposition leader on Oct 31.

A three-member medical board of polyclinic doctors had thoroughly examined the former chief minister and conducted several clinical tests. On October 29, an accountability court had extended the physical remand of Shehbaz Sharif until Nov 7 in Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing scandal.

The National Accountability Bureau in the first week of October arrested Shehbaz Sharif inside its Lahore office where he was summoned to record his statement in connection with the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.

An investigation team of the country’s top anti-graft watchdog quizzed him for an hour over his alleged role in awarding contract to his “favourite firm” in violation of laws in the Ashiana-i-Iqbal housing project.
