Sindh CM takes notice of torture on seminary students in Hyderabad

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday took notice of torture on students at a religious seminary in Hyderabad.

According to the details, CM Murad Ali Shah sought comprehensive report from the commissioner Hyderabad about torture on the students at Hyderabad seminary and added that torture on children will not be tolerated.

He asked the education ministry to arrange a counseling program in collaboration with Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony to stop the torture on the students by the teachers and clerics in educational institutions.

He stressed upon the teachers to educate students with humbleness. Later, the police apprehended the cleric, who subjected the students to torture in the seminary.

It is pertinent to mention here that an eight-year-old girl who was brutally tortured by a teacher in Multan, had succumbed to injuries and died after seven days of agony on August 7.

Noor Fatima who was a student at a local seminary was beaten up by her teacher to an extent that resulted in paralysis from the neck down.

After the unfortunate incident, the child was taken to the local clinic and later was shifted to Nishtar Hospital where doctors informed the family about the serious condition of the child,
