Sindh governor meets CJP, donates over Rs673 million to dams fund

ISLAMABAD: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail called on Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar in Islamabad on Tuesday to present a cheque amounting to Rs673.791 million as donation for the dams’ fund. 

The amount was collected by the Sindh Governor during fundraising dinner held at Governor’s House in Karachi.

More than Rs7.60 billion donations have been received through different sources for construction of Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams Fund, according to latest figures posted by the Supreme Court on its website.

The Fund has been established by the SBP on the directions of the Supreme Court. All the commercial and micro-finance banks, and field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation have opened the Fund account to receive donations in cash, and through cheques, pay orders and demand drafts at all their branches across the country.
