Reacting strongly to MQM’s statement on seeking ban on JI, Haq said JI wasn’t protesting at Nine-Zero that raged the MQM. We were protesting outside French Consulate in Karachi against Charlie Hebdo for blasphemous caricatures it published, he added.
Addressing a rally at Karachi’s Hasan Square, JI chief said the shameful acts of French Magazine even woke up non-Muslims to their conscience, asked ‘why those sitting in London didn’t react to it.’

He said the blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was above any political differences. Everyone must now unite to foil such plans, he added.
He called upon Muslim leaders across the world to get united and oppose any western plot against sanctity of Islam.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain a week ago had demanded ban on JI, saying the ban was vital to save country from extremist forces.
