The FIR was lodged with the Civil Lines police, with government as the plaintiff. MQM leaders, Dr Farooq Sattar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Khushbakht Shujaat, Aminul Haq and others, were nominated in the case.
The FIR included relative clauses relating to the violation of the Red Zone and Loud Speaker Act, and causing unrest.
The MQM, on Sunday, organized a demonstration over water shortage in the megapolis outside the CM House. The protest prompted government to send a three-member delegation to hold talks with the party.
The government delegation assured of water supply across the city within a week, following which the protest was called off.
