KARACHI: Paramilitary Rangers arrested three accused involved in murder of a trader in Karachi’s Jodia Bazaar at his business premises, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
A spokesperson of Rangers in a statement said that the son in law of victim Saeem, found to be the key accused of the killing.
Saleem, the owner of Saleem Corporation at the key wholesale market of Karachi, was murdered on April 09 at his business premises in Kharadar police station jurisdiction.
The rangers constituted a special team for investigation of the murder that created harassment in the business community, the spokesman said.
The investigators found evidence against key accused Khurram Mumtaz and arrested him along with Iqbal alias German and his son Naveed Iqbal, the spokesman said.
Deceased Saleem was murdered with the help of the operatives of Lyari gang war, spokesman said.
Khurram Mumtaz conspired to kill his father in law for propety and over a personal dispute, the rangers spokesperson said.
He hired services of Iqbal German and Naveed Iqbal for one million rupees contract money. Iqbal German gave the murder job to his son Naveed, who shot dead the trader on April 09, rangers statement said.
The murder weapon, a pistol, has been recovered from the accused apart of the clothes of the accused, 50,000 rupees cash, a motorcycle and helmet, used at the time of the murder, were also found, the spokesman said.
After disclosures of the target killer in the probe, further investigation of the incident has been underway, the rangers said.
The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the leaders of traders community had strongly condemned the murder of Muhammad Saleem, who was killed at his business premises in Jodia Bazaar on Tuesday evening, April 09.
