Star-studded Karachi Kings launch in Jeeto Pakistan

KARACHI: The Karachi Kings are ready for a sensational new round of cricket in the third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) starting from February 21 in Dubai. 

With the start of the matches only days away the Karachi Kings have set their sight on the ultimate prize.

With a different approach, official launch of the biggest team of the PSL, Karachi Kings, was held in the biggest game show of Pakistan, Jeeto Pakistan, with Fahad Mustafa and Waseem Badami hosting the special episode.

In an impromptu meet and greet on Saturday before the launch event, members of the team and the management spent time with their supports and sponsors for the upcoming season.

Among the players present at the event were president of the team and star all-rounder Shahid Afridi, Captain Imad Wasim, Babar Azam, Usman Khan, Osama Mir, Tabish Khan, Hasan Mohsin, Khurram Manzoor, Mohammad Rizwan, Mushtaq Khloro, Saifullah Bangash, Mohammad Taha, Mohammad Irfan and of course international cricketer Ravi Bopara.

In a spectacular fashion that is hallmark of Jeeto Pakistan, Fahad Mustafa engaged the crowd as well as team members in exciting games and festivities with his energetic style.

The event saw official launch of the anthem of Karachi Kings, which was belted out by famed singer Shehzad Roy.

The event was attended by celebrities, including Faisal Qureshi, Humayun Saeed and Sanam Baloch. Also present at the event were Mr. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi – Chairman, The Arkadians, Brig. Mujtaba – Head of Corporate Communication, Fauji Foundation, and Mr. Tariq Wasi – CEO, Karachi Kings along with Team Director Mr. Rashid Latif.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Salman Iqbal, owner of Karachi Kings, said: “As a collective unit the Karachi Kings is more than a team, it is a family.”

“We are confident that this family will display a relenting drive and passion to achieve success in this season of PSL. With the final scheduled to be played in Karachi, it would make us immensely proud to be crowned the victors on our home ground with the people of Karachi.”

He expressed gratitude to Ravi Bopara for visiting Karachi for the team’s launch event and said it presented a very positive image of Pakistan, which has always been our goal’.

Of late, a sponsorship agreement was signed between the Karachi Kings and Nurpur for the third edition of the PSL.
