In counter-attack, Imran vows to file another reference against PM

Speaking to party supporters in Nowshera, Khan seemed visibly fumed at Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) for filing a reference against him seeking disqualification in the National Assembly.

The PML-N on Friday submitted a reference to the National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq seeking disqualification of Khan.

The reference was submitted by eight PML-N lawmakers. They raised the issue of Imran Khan’s off-shore companies, his flats outside Pakistan, income and Bani Gala residence in the reference.

Earlier speaking to party workers at the launch of ‘Tehreek-e-Ehtisaab’ in Peshawar, Khan had vowed that ‘accountability movement’ launched by his party will be taken to its logical end. He said a small segment of rulers was plundering national wealth with impunity.

He also took the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to task, asking why the accountability watchdog officials would not question the premier for source of his wealth.

He also called upon parliamentarians to ask PM Sharif about the source of his wealth. He went on to say that Nawaz Sharif could indulge in corruption, but “not able to bring about change in the governance system.”

Khan said PTI workers and supporters will remain on the streets until PM came forward to face accountability. He claimed that the prime minister considers himself to be above law. He insisted upon his supporters that he would remain standing by them. “The match has just begun,” exclaimed the PTI chief.

Earlier in his message on the occasion of launching movement, Khan had said corruption was the biggest problem in Pakistan and a large movement had been launched so that the corrupt rulers should be taken to task.

The movement has begun from Peshawar and will culminate in Attock.
