Suspect in Pims rape attempt nabbed from Haripur

 

The suspect named Krishan Kumar was arrested from Haripur. He allegedly attempted to rape a 20-year-old mentally handicapped female at Pims, who had come from Swat.

Officials said that Kumar is already booked in another rape case with Margalla police.

Police said that after the patient woke up Krishan Kumar fled scene.

The Pims administration, following the incident, appointed women staff for female patients and barred male doctors and nurses from patients’ inspection.

However, the administration did not respond to the queries as to how was a man with criminal record appointed at the hospital, why was a male nurse assigned duty in women’s ward and why was not the police informed about the incident.
