LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri on late Sunday night left for London after a brief stay here.

Boarding his flight, Qadri lashed out at former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices. He said he will return to the country after a fortnight long foreign visit.

In a brief interaction with media persons, he said that Supreme Court of Pakistan has granted many opportunities to Sharif family and it is third consecutive chance for the ruling family to refute charges against them. “But they are shunning summons by not availing these chances to let an anti-corruption watchdog to exonerate them,” he added.

Calling upon Nawaz Sharif to turn up before NAB investigators, he said that the apex court can even issue an order for their arrests if they fail to appear before National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

He further said that it’s a high-time for the anti-graft body to prove its mettle in major corruption scandals. “Sharif and his party [Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz] will not be able to make amendments in the constitution of Pakistan on a whim,” he noted.

Calling for justice to victims of Model Town tragedy, he asserted that he would come back in the coming weeks. “I am not fleeing; I will be coming back very soon,” he added.
