FAISALABAD: Taking action against defaulters of property tax, the Excise and Taxation Department (ETD) has recovered property tax of more than Rs113.2 million from private sector in Faisalabad during February 2019.
The spokesperson of the ETD said that there were 890 property units of private sector in Faisalabad including buildings of banks, schools, colleges, which were defaulters of property tax.
The ETD issued the defaulters notices with a warning of legal proceedings if they did not deposit property tax in time, the spokesman said.

After warning, owners of 95 percent buildings had deposited property tax of Rs113.2 million up to February 28 whereas recovery teams had also been mobilize to recover property tax from the remaining five percent defaulters, he added.
On March 4, the FBR had issued an advice to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for making payment of sales tax refunds amounting to Rs7,236 million to facilitate the exports.
The payment will benefit 898 claimants involved in exports of textile, carpets, leather, sports goods, surgical instruments, rice, food items, machinery and other items, said the FBR statement issued here. The refund has been paid against 2,637 refund payment orders issued on January 30, 2019, it added.
