Paramount Pictures has officially dropped the second trailer for The Running Man, Edgar Wright’s highly anticipated sci-fi action thriller featuring Glen Powell in the lead role.
The film, set to hit theaters worldwide on November 14, 2025, marks Wright’s return to the big screen after Last Night in Soho and offers a fresh, modern take on Stephen King’s 1982 dystopian novel originally published under the name Richard Bachman.
The second trailer for The Running Man showcases Wright’s signature energy and dark humor, mixing high-octane chases, brutal confrontations, and sleek futuristic visuals.
Glen Powell stars as Ben Richards, a desperate man forced to compete in a government-controlled game show where survival means freedom and fortune. Unlike the 1987 adaptation, Wright’s version promises a grittier tone, emphasizing the political manipulation of media and the spectacle of violence as entertainment.
The Running Man follows Richards as he battles a team of professional hunters over thirty deadly days, with every move broadcast to a world obsessed with spectacle. The new footage highlights intense stunt sequences and explosive set pieces that push both Richards and viewers to the edge.
Directed by Edgar Wright and co-written with Michael Bacall, The Running Man brings together a powerhouse cast including Glen Powell, Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, and Colman Domingo.
Produced by Wright, Nira Park, and Simon Kinberg under the banners of Genre Films and Complete Fiction, the movie blends sleek sci-fi visuals with the filmmaker’s trademark rhythm and kinetic editing.
With its pulsating action, sharp social commentary, and Glen Powell in full command of the chaos, The Running Man looks poised to be one of this fall’s most electrifying cinematic experiences. The second trailer confirms it — Edgar Wright’s The Running Man isn’t just a remake; it’s a reinvention that dares to outrun the original.
